Instructor Wendy Summers is an artist and licensed Mental Health Counselor who regularly utilizes art and other expressive therapies in her practice. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute and a master’s degree in counseling from Grace University. During her 30 years as an art educator, Wendy was continually inspired by the healing power of art and artmaking. This ultimately led her to transition into the field of mental health counseling, where she has practiced for the past decade.
Wendy integrates art into her counseling practice and maintains her own creative routine as an important part of personal well-being. She is passionate about helping others experience the restorative power of creativity and believes making art can nourish the mind, body, and soul!
